    Midweek times two.

Was fortunate enough to get two midweek practice days in this week. Tuesday at Mt View and Wednesday at Albany. Mt View with its great staff put on another excellent practice event despite hot temps. Mt view wins on having the most intelligent watering crew. They know just how to water, as the track is making its way to blue groove in the hot weather. The drawing of perpendicular water lines about 15 feet apart and keeping the edges moist makes a huge difference on dust control while retaining traction during the clay hardening transition. Albany has the dirt quality and a grooming crew that is top notch. We are so fortunate to have two excellent tracks available for mid week practice. I do have one beef. I like doubles especially the ones where the top of the second landing is well rounded so if something happens like loosing traction on the ramp of the first one there is a rounded top available to try and skip off of if one comes up short. But I really think peak to peak doubles offers to little margin for error. Thus we had a life flight event at Albany on the peak to peak double on the east side of the track. I was to far behind him to see exactly what happened but something went horribly wrong for Mark Bybee on this double. I pray that he heals fast. Deb took a ton of pics and are now up on her web site at http://www.mxpix.smugmug.com
